- Placing Freeads
- How much does it cost to place a Freead?
- There is no charge to place a Basic Freead. However, if you would like your Freead to really stand out we have a number of upgrades you can purchase for your ad, including Bold and Premium ads.
- How do I place a Freead?
- Start by deciding which category your ad should be displayed in, once you have chosen a category you will be able to enter details of your advert. If you have not used Freeads before you'll also be asked for some contact details.
- Will my Freead appear in any papers?
- Freeads Classifieds only exists online, and ads placed oline will only appear online. We do not publish Freead from this site in any papers.
- How many Freeads can I list?
- You may place as many Freead for different items as you wish, but you cannot list the same item multiple times.
- How long will my Freead run for?
- All Freead run for 60 days, after which you will be given the option to renew your ad. If you wish to either remove or upgrade your Freead at any point during this time, you can do so via My Freeads.
- Why isn't Place a Freead working?
- The 'Place a Freead' process uses cookies to work, so you will need to ensure that you have cookies enabled in your browser.
- General
- Why can't I log in?
- If you are experiencing problems logging in to Freeads, you should first verify that you are using the correct password. You can do this from the Lost Password page. Secondly, ensure that you have cookies enabled in your browser.
- Managing Your Freeads
- How can I add a picture or video?
- You can add up to ten pictures to a Basic Freead. Go to My Freeads and find the Freead you want to edit in the list. Next to the item, click the Edit link and follow the on-screen instructions. Your adverts will show up in My Freeads approximately 20 minutes after you place them.
- How can I change a picture?
- You can change a picture by first removing the picture you want to replace, and then adding a new one. Go to My Freeads and find the Freead you want to edit in the list. Next to the item, click the Edit link and Add / Remove Pictures then follow the on-screen instructions.
- How do I change the price of something I'm advertising?
- If a Freead isn't generating much interest, it may be that you have set the price too high. You can change the price or any other part of a Freead at any time after the advert has gone live. Go to My Freeads and find the item you want to edit in the list. Next to the item, click the Edit link.
- I've sold my item! How do I remove the Freead?
- Removing a Freead is easy. Go to My Freeads and find the Freead you want to remove in the list. Next to the item, click the Sold / Delete link and you Freead will be withdrawn.
- Why does my ad display the wrong phone number?
- We do not display your private telephone number on your Freead. Instead, we replace it with a privacy number which connects buyers direct to you. There is no charge to you for this service.
- Managing Your Details
- How can I update my email address / phone number?
- You can update any of your personal details, including your email address and phone number, from the Profile page. Any changes made here take immediate effect, but email address changes will require confirmation. Please note that we do not display your private telephone number on your Freead. Instead, we replace it with a privacy number which connects buyers direct to you. There is no charge to you for this service.
- I've forgotten my password, what should I do?
- If you've forgotten your password we can send it to you by email. Visit the Lost Password page and enter the email address you used when you signed up. The password will be sent to this address. If you no longer have access to the email address you signed up with, the answer is to create a new Freeads account with a current email address.
- Why hasn't my password reminder arrived?
- If you've asked to be reminded of your password but the email hasn't arrived, it's likely that the email may have been stopped by a junk mail filter. As the reminder email is automatically generated, some email software may mistake it for junk mail and move it to a Junk or Trash folder. If you have a Junk or Trash folder, check for he password reminder there.
- How can I change my password?
- If you wish to change your password to something more memorable (or if you think someone else may have discovered your password), you can change it at any time. Log in and visit your Profile page, where your password can be changed.
- Managing Responses
- How do buyers contact me?
- There are two different ways that buyers can contact you. The first is by email. Freeads does not give out your email address, but a buyer can use the site to send an email to you. The second way a buyer can contact you is by telephone. Again, Freeads does not give out your actual number, but shields it behind an anonymous number. When a buyer dials the number we give them, they'll be put through to your phone automatically. This facility ceases to work once your Freead has expired or has been withdrawn.
- Why have messages been removed from my inbox?
- Occasionally, having received an email notifying you of new messages in your Freeads inbox, you may log in to find that the messages have been removed. This happens when Freeads finds scam emails or abusive messages.
