Hello, I am sending this email out to as many as possible in the search for some help and support.
My name is Raymond Thirlwell.J.
I have a daughter of 3 Years old who I have sole custody of 7 days a week and no contact from her mother. I suffer a collapsed spine in 2006 resulting in 3 fractured vertibra. Over the years my condition has gotten worse to the point 6 of my discs are now effected and I also have spinal desiese which is only speeding the process up of my back getting worse. Im on high pain relief medication. I came out of work in 2012 from working at the age of 15, now being 34. I have managed and coped up until now but after recently moving to a new property me and my partner split. So as you can imagine I don't have very much support where I am as all my friends and family live the best part of 120 miles away in somerset and north wales. They try their hardest to come and assist me as and when they can the same as I go to theirs at times for care/support. My issue is and this is my plea. I have turned everywhere possible, council, social, charities and no one seems to care. Or offer support advice. So im taking it upon myself to ask for support. The house im currently in is perfect for my disability needs as it has a wet room for me to shower with ease, large bathroom for wheelchair access. Grab rails where needed, lowered steps and ramps, and a vertical lift. While with my partner and with what limited funds and support I could get I have managed to finish downstairs so myself and my daughter can be comfortable during the day. With what bit I have had left I have managed to furnish my daughters room with bed, wardrobe and drawers. As always she comes before me as she is my life, my world and my motivation. I am now stuck with upstairs and cant do anymore especially with Christmas coming which in itself is becoming a worry, when my partner left it left me with rent arears, child tax over payments and motability overpayment when they changed me from dla to pip. So yes I now have to try and find the best part of £2600 myself to cover all this. That's not my issue as I can arrange to have that done with minimum payments from what benefits I do get but in turn makes it harder and near on impossible for me to now complete my home for myself and my daughter. Here is where im stuck
My daughters room needs carpeting due to the wooden floors and her being accident prone (falling)
My stairs and landing also need carpeting which my daughter has fallen down once but luckily they are split level stairs.
My room needs carpeting.
Also the guest room for when someone stays to care for me needs carpeting.
In the guest room I currently have to use an airbed for them with no furniture so im in need of a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables, also curtains.
As much as I may have my room its my ex partners bed. I need a new bed that will help my back as sleeping is out the window most nights even on my tablets. The bed is too hard and uncomfortable but it will do until she asks for it back.
I am also in need of a wardrobe as im currently having to share my daughters and yes you can imagine she has more clothes than me so stacked everywhere.
I have never had to put myself in this position as I have always worked and paid my way in life. And now I just want to do the best for my girl even with my condition, I shall one day loose the use of my legs but until that day we are trying our hardest to live life. When that day does come I shall still push on for my girl.
Im asking, im begging, I don't have much and cant offer much so if anything can be donated / fitted free I would be most greatfull and would be more than happy to put the good word out about your business. If you could only provide 1 thing from our needs you will of made our lives a lot easier, better and more comfortable and less stress.
