Yamaha SG-1000 (1980s Tobacco Sunburst)

On offer an early 1980s Yamaha SG-1000 in Tobacco Sunburst finish, Generally we still see quite a few 1990's SG-1000 kicking about, but the early1980 become ever rarer, especially the 1st issue examples.

The SG-1000 is the rocky little brother of the acclaimed Yamaha SG-2000 that was developed in the 1970s, but without the thru neck or sustain block; this too is a killer guitar handling and balancing well and plays like a dream, light and fluid, with low action.

The guitar is a solid and quality build instrument with a set neck and ebony fret-board. It is a pretty guitar and although it may feel at first a bit heavy, it is an awesome player. The serial number consists of 6 digits starting with 00 and is imprinted in the back of the head stock, along with the script "made in Japan ".

The guitar is in reasonably good condition and although it is nearly 40 years old, there are mostly minor chips and body marks; the play wear is genuine as expected not like the modern day "reliced" fake looks which is remarkable for a vintage guitar.
