Description:

Millie is an 8 year old bay mare with an affectionate and kind temperament. She has wonderful manners on the ground and is 100% safe around children. She literally runs to you like a dog when you call her in from the field!

She is barefoot and only needs a trim every 12 weeks (fab little hooves) and she lives off thin air.

She spent her first two years of education in a riding school and has spent the last two years with our family as a lead rein pony. Our girls and their friends have ridden her off lead rein on the roads for the last 6 months - she is pretty much bombproof with traffic, she will occasionally startle if a bird flies out of a tree but the worst she does is stop suddenly in her tracks. She has never bombed off or done anything silly. She has a very fast paced pony trot and as such needs somebody who can keep up (not for a lazy rider)

Millie can get excitable in a school environment and will throw in the odd leap like a merry-go-round horse if asked to canter which can make the rider lose their seat.

We only have occasional access to a manege and I suspect if Millie was exposed to this more frequently she would soon stop getting excited. She enjoys work.

She is the kind of pony for hacking that you can use as much or as little as you like.

She is great with farrier, to catch, to load, to worm and has her teeth rasped without any sedation. She is generally very chilled out with new things.

We are now looking for something a bit bigger (Millie is 11.3/12hh) so that us adults can ride both of our horses.

Millie's perfect Jockey would be a confident novice or a lightweight experienced lady (she can carry up to about 9 stone easily despite her being quite fine)

Her show name is Wellbank Modern Millie. She is passported and up to date on her jabs / wormers etc. She is in perfect health.

I would really like to keep her as a pet but our field will not cope with 3 horses come winter time. It will be a very sad sale and a good, experienced home is essential for this special little lady.
