Not-for-Profit. 11hh Good Natured, Well Handled, Easy to tack up, but Unbacked Welsh Gelding 4 1/2 Looking 4 Home as Companion, Family Lead Rein Proje in Newton Le Willows

£600

Despite his name, DANGER MOUSE must be the closest you will get to a CHEAP-as-they-COME DREAM KIDS' LEAD REIN PROJECT, SPECIAL NEEDS PET &/or COMPANION. Seems healthy & content. No seen any signs of lumps or bumps, vice, sickness, sweet itch, asthma nor laminitis.

Microchipped & Passported. GELDED. FULLY VACCINATED - UP-to-DATE with 1st, 2nd & 3rd FLUE & TETANUS, WORMING & FEET. Trims done every six weeks.

GOOD for FARRIER & vets. VETS' FAVOURITE. Just stood there to be shaved, checked over, injected, gelded etc. Was never coltish. FROM SHOW BREEDERS WHO BRED for GOOD NATURE - things just got out of hand when they got too old (near 90!).

He is so good natured & caring towards people, pets & other ponies. Even when entire adopted a weak colt. Shared stable/hay with it. Watched over it & protected it like he was it's mum. So sweet. Shares run peacefully with older mare - small colts on one side, big mares/geldings on the other with no issues.

Was a dream to tame/train. Not been bothered with metal barn doors slamming loudly in the wind, alarms going off, things rattling etc. Not seen much/not been many places yet so will need some more exposing out and about. Might spook/pull to the side first time as scared but usually faces it calmly next time. Learns quickly.

Not been spoiled nor given treats. Never bit or kicked nor been been mean nor tried to hurt us. Unless briefly scared when out has not been strong nor one to push or pull. Just more laid back & obliging. A delight really & for a young horse easy.

Can go out alone or in company. Although when an adult left their small child behind to walk off with him he did insist on first going back to get their child. Guess he never left 'his' adopted foal behind. Also he loves kids & autistic youths. Of course kids should be supervised with any pony/animal.

Loves a fuss. Easy to catch - comes right up. Follows or is often lead by loose rope around neck, to & from paddock. So good. Easy to tie up, pick all four feet, brush, wash, rug up, worm, jab, tack up & dress up. Been good to load & travel. Kids like pleating his long mane & tail. Affectionate. One you can get a lovely bond with.

DIRT CHEAP. Re-homing fee only £600 as seen to kind home/family, small pony party/therapy business or petting zoo. Hence so far pretty good BUT unfortunately in the winter he developed stifle lock (which some young ponies get or go through). Although seasoned vets checked him out & said they felt sure he would come right with three weeks of walks up hill and should make a lovely kids' pony we are re-homing him primarily, and as cheap as, a companion. This is because we can not be sure person will follow the advise & can not promise he will make a top show pony. We are, however, sure he could most likely make a child, disabled youth or adult's best friend.

If person will do the up-hill walks, take him out to see some more things & spend some weeks backing him they will do him a favour and likely get one of the best natured (even if not perfect) Welsh kids ponies you can get. It is, however, up to them if they are happy to take the 'gamble'.

Sadly so many are just out to get a small pony to flip quickly or want everything - even their pet or companion - to be absolutely perfect looking, papered etc even if they don't need to be or aren't good natured or safe. That would make them overlook this pony but be assured that is to their (or at least their child's) loss. When you meet him you will see what I mean.

The kind person, parents, large home schooling family, small pony business etc who don't mind a rescue, don't mind putting in some weeks of work and decides to take a chance on him might actually end up with one of the best ponies. There are no drugged up ponies here. We do it for the love of it and give honest advise.

He is open to viewing and independent vetting but fee is fixed - as so cheap. Just please come prepared with any permission needed, money & stable ready to avoid disappointment or messing about. No pony is loaded till full amount paid & cleared or counted & signed receipt given.

We can then usually deliver cheaply, the same or next day, cost price (fuel + any tolls, ferries etc but no charge for our time). Happy to give a quote beforehand. Just need the post code.

Of course if in doubt leave it out or read up on it. There is no obligation to re-home. We love our ponies and only want them to go to a kind, well matched homes that will really enjoy them and look well after them. If they want to we are happy to stay in touch. If it does not work out we can try to help. Look forward to hearing from you.x

PS Number of videos available of a disabled young child leading him, him zooming around the field, him at the road and him loading etc.
