I am looking for a child to join the team of riders who help to exercise my 11.3hh Welsh B pony who is kept in Lydd on the Romney Marsh.

Ideally, I would like a child who is a competent rider (can walk, trot and canter independently) and probably aged between 8-12 would be most ideal for his size. Although if there is an older sibling who rides, there may be the chance to ride my 14.2hh (or for a younger child to move up to him in time, when they out-grow the little pony!)

The pony is available for riding in the school and fields around the yard and, when I am available to accompany, for the occasional hack, and maybe even the odd beach ride in the summer. He was broken by myself in 2012, so he is still a little green, especially in his jumping, but coming on all the time. He doesn't rear or bolt and is absolutely bombproof on the roads (doesn't bat an eyelid at the biggest vehicles!). I am open to the idea of him getting out to a few low-level, fun shows in due course, for a contribution towards transport hire.

The pony is currently available for weekend riding (day to be be negotiated each week as weekends will be shared with his other weekend rider) and during weekdays after school now that the evenings are getting lighter, and obviously day-times during school holidays. All days will be negotiated on a weekly basis so that he can be allocated fairly amongst all his riders, but there should be the potential to ride at least once a week (£10) and most weeks twice if desired (£15 for the 2 days).
