It started life black and I wanted an orange jazz. I stripped and sprayed it myself, so the finish isn't factory quality but does look the part. Only upon close inspection can you notice a few flaws in it. The finish itself is actually the same paint used on the pearl orange Ford Focus you can get. In addition to the paint job, I replaced the neck pickup with a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder and the bridge pickup was replaced with a ceramic Seymour Duncan musicman humbucker wired in parallel. The original pre was swapped for a Seymour Duncan blackout stacked bass and treble pre and the "slap switch" is now an active/passive DPDT switch. It also received the same Schaller strap lock treatment as before (3 of them) and a set of rotosound nexus strings fitted. In addition to this I fitted a hipshot D tuner and swapped the stock tuners for black ones (a tad lighter too). I also had a scratchplate made for this one. Throughout the mod process I thought this would become my main bass, but upon finishing it decided it isn't a patch on my main bass so it just ended up as a nice bass to look at on the rack and has only left the house once.
