Description:

Due to a surprise birth, we have two chinchillas looking for a new home. The chins are mother and son and must go as a pair due to their close friendship. The son has been castrated to ensure they can be kept together in future. We will provide the new owners with the old cage as well as some toys to start them off.

Details of each chinchilla are as follows;

Carla: Standard to light grey female who became a mum in April 2013. She was born around November 2011 and is therefore just over two years old. She may be shy with new people, however has a friendly and upbeat personality once a bond has been made.

Columbus: Dark grey male who was born on 9th April 2013. He boasts a gorgeous face and incredibly soft fur. He has been handled regularly from birth and as a result, is very friendly and cuddly with huge potential to be incredibly tame.

Both chins have had regular checks at our local vets and are in good health and a reasonable weight.

We would preferably like the new owners to have experience with chinchillas, as they require a high amount of attention as well as a continuous supply of toys to prevent them from getting bored. We wish to note that chinchillas are fragile and may not be the best pet for children. Furthermore, please be aware they can live up to 20 years old, so commitment is a must. As has been said before, we will provide the new owners with their old cage and supplies, however a larger cage is highly suggested to allow the chins to exercise regularly in future. For the two chinchillas and their accessories, we are asking for £100.

UPDATE: WE HAVE RECENTLY BOUGHT A LARGE CAGE FOR THE CHINS THAT THEY CAN THRIVE IN. IT IS ON WHEELS AND BETTER QUALITY THAN THEIR OLD CAGE, WHICH MAY BE SEEN IN SOME PICTURES. THE NEW CAGE WILL BE GIVEN TO THE NEW OWNERS. THANKS.
