We are offering our much loved KC registered Orange Roan Cocker dog 'Binky Writer' (Rusty) up for stud. He is a truly lovely example of the breed, living up the the name 'the merry cocker.' His temperament is second to none; he is biddable, sweet natured, amusing and excellent with children. He is a blend of working and show lines, with the steady nature of the show and the intelligence and vibrancy of the working. His markings are symmetrical and correct, with a white blaze running down the centre of his head, giving him that lovely 'top notch' so typical of the breed. Rusty is a true cocker, but over and above that he is a wonderful pet.

We have had so many requests from everyone from dear friends to absolute strangers that we meet out and about as to whether they might be able to have their own 'Rusty puppy' that we have decided to go through the rigorous testing process required to put him up for stud. He is PRA clear (eye test done 22/4/15). His hips have been scored under GA and the results will be back from the Kennel Club in 3-4 weeks (mid/end May) but the vet has said that his hips appear straight and correct from the X rays. He is also FN clear. The whole testing process will have cost us in the region of £500; I can assure you we are not in this to make a quick buck, but rather that we have a truly lovely dog and we would like others to have the pleasure of pups who are just like him.

I would be happy for prospective bitch owners to come and meet Rusty by arrangement, or ring for a chat. If you were to decide to use him, I would suggest two visits, 24 hours apart to ensure best chances of conception. We have all his papers here with us for you to see. I would also welcome your prospective puppy buyers to come and visit him, meaning you can advertise pups where 'mother and father can both be seen.' In short, we are wiling to help in any way we can!
