I orginally kept chinese painted quail 30 years a go in the bottom of an aviary when i used to breed budgies but never realised or appreciated how much value these birds have. They start laying eggs at 8 weeks of age and dont stop.

i have normal chinese painted quail, texas a and m (produce white meat), old english white and a variety of other colours at 5.00 pounds each ( a fiver each ) eating eggs 1.20 a dozen and hatching eggs at 3.00 a dozen . my birds are fed on layers
pellets, grass and some greens as you can see in the photos also they love a sand bath.They Dont need expensive cages just an old rabbit hutch will do.
