Staged Cambridge seeks new members to join our new community drama group in Cambridge
Description:
DO YOU have an interest in amateur theatre, with either a penchant for acting or backstage production?
ARE YOU looking for a new challenge or project to occupy some of your spare time?
WOULD YOU consider spending one evening a week with like-minded people, intent of having some fun and creating a piece of entertainment for the local community?
At Staged, we're always keen to meet interesting people, who in their own individual way, can add something special to the group.
You don't need acting or production experience but you will be made to feel part of our family, regardless of which aspect of the 'business' you wish to donate your time and talent to. We are also very happy to hear from people who could potentially assist the group with such aspects as scriptwriting, music (writing or performing, ) or even helping to market the group locally.
Staged Cambridge is a recently launched drama group, based in Cherry Hinton, Cambridge and we are looking for enthusiastic people to join our team.
Staged's 6 core values are:
Social- we are a local community group and our sessions are intended to bring like-minded folks together for fun and a little bit of community spirit
Teamwork- as a group of individuals all with similar aims, we work better together
Adaptable- our profile is to explore a wide range of styles/genres and we should all embrace the opportunity to try something new, or different
Goal Focused- having something to aim for helps us to push ourselves further and learn about who we are
Expression- having the ability to express ourselves is something we develop as people. This is about how we make use of this skill
Dedication- Success doesn't happen overnight; it takes commitment, hard work and determination
S T A G E D...
We meet every Tuesday in Cherry Hinton from 7:30pm. The session costs £1 each, which is purely to cover the cost of the venue hire. We are keen to hear from folks with or without theatrical experience, who would like to join us for fun, sociable sessions in pleasant surroundings.
The group is currently looking at a new, more informative and involving structure for it's sessions, which will include periodic development activities, both individually and in teams.
I'm keen to meet people interested in a more wide ranging cross-section of the amateur community generally. My theory is that maybe Staged needs to diversify into the following areas:
Short film production
Audio work, such as content for radio or voiceover projects
Continue with stage productions
Other ideas, such as outside projects for festivals etc
You can search for Staged Cambridge on Facebook.
