About us....
The words 'Whiffle Pig' are a term of endearment made up by close friends Rachel and Annie - it is what they have always called one another during periods of difficulty and sadness. Try as you might, you cannot say it without a smile beginning to spread across your face. When they decided to start a company up it was a unanimous decision as to what the name would be, and it has continued to make people smile ever since.

The main core of the company is the designing and carrying out of bespoke workshops forthe local hospital and some local charities. Although they predominantly work with familiesliving with neurological conditions and damage (Alzheimer's, Depression, Head injury etc)they also work with children on both the hospital wards and in artists events.
Recently theyhave started to introduce carers and bereavement workshops and plan to broaden theareas they work to some of the smaller towns and villages of Derbyshire. There are otherstrands to the company itself, if you would like to have a mooch about our website you candiscover what they are.
In the last year they have added to their team with a small collection of artists andvolunteers who have been taking part and heading workshops within the hospital.

The Whiffle Pigs use their profit from any orders they still do and from the selling of their books to fund a range of creative workshops for some local charities as well as free workshops at local events for young children.
Due to recently being granted funding from Awards for All Whiffle Pig have been able to increase their Whiffle While You Workshops within the Royal Derby hospital. This has been fantastic as they have been able to produce better materials and bring in other artists to really benefit the patients and their families. These simple, yet effective, workshops have been helping the patients relax more in hospital and we are hoping it will begin to really make a positive impact on the long term patients rehabilitation.
Following the success of these workshops they have not only increased them in the hospital but continue them post discharge. After you leave hospital as a long term patient it can be very isolating so we have been running follow on workshops which have no limit so our service users can come along for as long as they want to.
All of our workshops are free to patients, service users and their family members.
