The Spitfire & Hurricane Memorial Museum at Manston, are looking for a Volunteer Museum Educator.
The Role
The Museum is dedicated to using its collection to help educate young people. We aim to do this by inviting small groups of children (e.g. Schools / Clubs) to learn about the war period in an inspiring and interesting visit. The Museum Educator will be crucial to help making such visits enjoyable, fun and inspiring, supported by the Museums fantastic and unique collection.
Who are we looking for?
A unique individual whom can help make our collection 'come alive' in the minds of children whom are interested in learning a little about the period, the brave men and women and the aircraft.
Ideally, the position would suit a retired teacher, or a teaching student looking for vocational experience - or simply someone whom can weave stories and facts to inspire children.
The Position
Volunteer
No set work pattern, but can be available to meet groups on a pre- arranged daytime basis.
This voluntary position requires a CRB or equivalent certification.
About the S&HM Museum
Two immaculately restored classic fighters in a superb purpose-built memorial building,. Around the aircraft are comprehensive displays telling the story of the air combat over Kent and during World War Two.
