Acorns Children's Hospice is a registered charity offering a network of care for life limited and life threatened children and young people, and their families, across the heart of England. Our Worcester based hospice supports families from around the Three Counties and South Warwickshire, and is currently looking to recruit a new team of home volunteers in Worcestershire.
Acorns home volunteers offer an amazing service to families who need extra support at home. Home volunteers help families in a variety of ways e.g. light housework, shopping, gardening, or providing companionship for the children, young people and siblings Acorns looks after. They visit the family on a regular basis, once a week, fortnight or monthly, and are always in pairs with a parent or carer on the premises.
Becoming a home volunteer achieves an enormous sense of fulfilment and helps to make a difference to a family's life. Home volunteers also become part of a dedicated team and receive on-going training and support to help their personal development. All travelling costs will be reimbursed.
