Hello-

My name is Dylan Guthrie and I am actually posting from the USA {Seattle WA, USA to be specific}. I'm posting here because I am in need of help with a project and am not sure which way to go with this...

I'm researching for an animated film about the English rock group Led Zeppelin. The film itself is called "Friends". It begins during the 1968-69 USA tour and ends with their concert at the Albert Hall in London in early January 1970. I chose that title partly because of the song on "Led Zeppelin III" called "Friends". But mainly because I believe that the members of Led Zeppelin truly were friends...

A brief {and perhaps simplistic} summary of "Friends":

Twenty year old savant musicians Bedwir and Bonzo move to London after the breakup of their group, the Band Of Joy and are living with new friends and bandmates Pagey {Jimmy Page} and Jonesy {John Paul Jones} in Lambeth, S London. Coincedentally old school friends and former Band Of Joy members Sid Parker and Julian Merrill, along with Julian's girlfriend Rowena move to Lambeth and Sid moves in next door. Over the course of time Sid's dark nature begins to fully emerge. Frightening Bedwir and forcing him to break ties. And it finally with the support of bandmates Pagey, Jonesy and Bonzo and the deep connection to Julian and Rowena that Bedwir learns what true friendship is...

Btw. "Bedwir" is the nickname that I give to Robert Plant in the script...

Speaking of. I know from reading that Plant grew up in Birmingham UK and attended King Edward VI Grammar School. At that time I believe that King Ed's was a grammar school for boys. Plant mentioned in an interview that he sat his A-Levels. So he graduated I think in 1966. I am hoping to speak to someone who may have been a neighbor of Robert Plant and his family or someone who may have attended school with him...

I am actually hoping that by making the film "Friends" I can get past the hype surrounding Led Zeppelin {brought on mainly by pop authors from the USA after the fact} and tell the story of Led Zeppelin as it should be told in earnest. The story of four talented and dedicated musicians bound by their friendship and their creativity.
