Overall Purpose



To organise and manage the nursery and after-school service for the benefit of the children parents and staff.



Specific Responsibilities



To be an effective member of the management team.

To support the staff team in the nursery and after-school club.

To take a lead role in supporting and developing best practice.

To promote effective systems on communications with the staff team and with parents.

Welcome new parents, children and staff into the nursery.

To take responsibility for organising and maintaining records and reports as appropriate.

To take responsibility for scheduling rotas, shifts, and holidays as it relates to the smooth and efficient operation of the nursery.

To support and encourage best practice as it relates to National and Local Curriculum Guidelines.

Encourage and promote effective adult interaction and approaches that support children's early learning and development.

To participate in and support staff in the use of child protection procedures as necessary.

To take responsibility for the Quality Assurance process.

To have an ongoing commitment to continuing Professional Development and be available for staff development opportunities and training.

To ensure all aspects of Health & Safety are adhered to and up to date at all times.

Attend partnership meetings and liaise with external professionals.

Must have at least a PDA 8/SVQ 4 and be working towards(or willing to) PDA 9/Ba Childhood Practice.

Applicant needs to be eligible to be registered with SSSC as Manager of a Day-care of Children's Service
