Demountable Camper on Diesel VW Caddy Pick up
Cost: £ 4,800 or reasonable offer
Location: South Molton
If you want to have a run around vehicle and a campervan but dont want to pay for two vehicles, then this is for you! The camper part demounts in minutes, so you are left with a pickup which does 45mpg and is pretty nippy driving about. The bed of the pick up is 6' long. It is a half ton pick up and drives like a car due to low centre of gravity. The Caddy is based on the VW gulf. With the camper on you get about 30-35 mpg which is lots more than most campervans! This is DIESEL and will have 1 years MOT put on it once I have received the deposit in the bank.
Camper Part: This has 2 wide beds - the double pulls out from the luton and is the full width of the camper. The single bed pulls out from the bench seat and is wide compared to most single camper beds. When the double bed is extended, it protrudes 3' into the camper, which means all of the facilities are still available when it is up. The facilities are: double hob, grill, electric tap, sink, 3-way fridge, gas heater (incredibly efficient, heats the camper in 10 mins in winter but broken at the moment - will mend when got MOT), wardrobe with shelves, hanging space and space for portapotti. There are 12v electric lights, a table that can be put in many positions, a hatch through to the cab, which is incredible useful! The windows are double glazed and darkened. The blinds are silver lined, so the camper keeps cool in hot countries. There is a skylight and the roof folds down. When the roof is up, one or both sides can be left down or in a halfway open position. This increases air flow and when a side is down, a wonderful view of the outside is gained. Although the camper is small (7.5ft long) it is so well thought out that it feels spacious. There is a toilet tent and an awning that fits on the back, both in good condition last time I looked.
Base Vehicle: This is 1.6D VW Caddy diesel pick up, 76k and it was made in 1987. It does excellent mpg see first paragraph. It is in good condition for its year and has always started first time, even when it has sat for months. It has rusty patches and I would be happy to send you photos of the rust. It has been waxed oiled underneath and other relevant areas. I am happy to provide one years MOT with the sale once I have had payment.
