Premier Houseboats are pleased to present Thomas H, a humber keel barge built by Dunstons of Thorne in 1940 for Hodgsons Tannery in Bevelery Beck. It was purchased as an ongoing project in 2009 and has been fully refitted to a high standard and she is currently used as a live-aboard. The deck is steel and is gently curved except for a 12 x 9 foot flat deck area at the fore. The wheelhouse has been completely renovated, with new UPVC glazed units, new insolation and panelling, and redecorated.
The living area has a very spacious feel. The ceiling height to the top of the skylights is over 10 feet and the two 6 x 4 feet skylights give plenty of daylight all year round. Extra large living area with feature multi fuel wood burner. Fitted galley with new under counter fridge, freezer and washing machine. The stove is a Newworld, manufactured especially for boats. A huge pantry cupboard, from floor to ceiling and a large breakfast bar divides the living area. The main en suite is large and accommodates a king sized bed. Forward en suite has a large power shower and built in vanity. Toilet is an electric Sani Marine which pumps into a black water tank or can be adjusted to pump overboard. The aft en suite cabin has two built in three quarter bunks. A large power shower, basin and Sani Marine electric toilet. The engine room is spacious, with two diesel tanks and plenty of room for storage.
Thomas H was surveyed out of water in 2010 . Two coats of hull paint were applied together with 8 anodes.
Thomas H is currently on a non residential mooring at Hampton. The owners are able to stay on their boat however it is not a secure residential mooring. An alternative residential mooring may also be available in Medway, Kent. As a life changing opportunity to live afloat and travel, Thomas H must be viewed to be appreciated.
