I have been serving as private tutor and teaching on and off for last two years. My major subjects include science and maths.

All children have different grasping levels, so I believe in clearing basic fundamentals of any subject before constructing a skyscraper in their minds!
Majority of the students who face difficulty in maths and science are actually scared of the subject not its content! Especially Maths!
I believe its more important to develop interest in the under-achieving subject rather than cramming a book.
