Track Academy is looking for an enthusiastic English Teacher or English graduate who can co-ordinate and run the English study support sessions for our Track Academy athletes based in Willesden, North West London. The project integrates athletic training, study support and mentoring services to give youngsters with sporting talent in the field of athletics a structured pathway which helps maximise their potential and achievements. The initial position entitles giving study support to a small group of youngsters from 1.30pm to 3.00pm on a Saturday after their track training sessions. Their level will range from secondary school level up to GCSE and possibly AS and A level. In addition to that the candidate will have the opportunity to undertake some liaison and teamwork duties to contribute to the integrated nature of the project.
There is a great scope for growth in the short and long term of this project, which will impact on the hours of work required. This is a great opportunity to get involved in a forever growing and successful project where you will be able to help out and work with athletes to maximise their potential. Person requirements
What we are looking for:
*An English graduate, trained English Teacher or an English PGCE student who is comfortable with teaching English to secondary level, GCSE and possibly up to A-Level. *An enthusiastic individual with good organisation skills.
*A person who works well independently and as a part of a team.
*A teacher willing to explore new teaching methods and approaches in order to maximise learning potential.
*Certain knowledge of the requirements of sporting life will be advantageous.
Academic qualifications
An Undergraduate Degree in English, a PGCE placement OR a Secondary School Teaching Qualification in English.
