All animals, domestic or wild are intuitive to Reiki healing and can sense instinctively who can heal them, actively seeking them out. Since being attuned to Reiki animal have come to me when they are in pain or in need of some healing. Animals are much more perceptive to the gentle energy. My golden retriever has always suffered with very bad skin allergies, rashes with hair loss but since I have been treating him his skin and coat have improved hugely with his hair growing back making him a much happier dog. I have found that both my dogs and my cat love it when I am doing treatment in the house. All animals take the energy they need to heal or relax and on no account does Reiki ever cause discomfort, pain or distress. The animal is the healer and the person is just the channel for the healing energy.
Reiki healing can be used alongside veterinary treatment as it does not in any way interfere detrimentally with the treatment, but can help to speed up the healing process, De-stress a sick animal and ease any pain the animal is suffering.Below is just a few examples where Reiki can be of great benefit.

- Past trauma (accidents, abuse, re-homing, loss of friend or sibling)

Reiki healing can also be used when an animal is at the last stage of their life as it seems to calm them and prepare them for their journey to the spirit world. When reiki is done for a dying animal the owner can benefit greatly seeing how calm and at peace their beloved pet becomes and it can ease their grief and loss.
