Good afternoon,
I am available for full time or part time nanny roles, also babysitting when needed. If you would like to go out to dinner or a little break away. I am very flexible with times and would be available both during the week and weekends.
I'd like to start off by saying a little about myself, I'm a mother to a wonderful well-mannered 8 year old boy, originally from Ireland but living in Hatfield. I have been working with children for many years and very much love what I do!!
In my spare time I enjoy reading, visiting museums and studying history (sounds boring to some but I'm a bit of a history buff) I also enjoy going into the city for family days out, going to the park for picnics etc. I am very much family orientated.
In terms of my experience, I was a full time live out nanny for a year to two wonderful children, one and two years old. I worked from 8am to 6pm. During my time with the Mulvihill family, I changed nappies, prepared healthy and nutritious meals from scratch, developed activities to do throughout the day and always stuck to the parents requests of how they wished their children's daily / weekly schedule be in terms of nap times, meal times etc.
Before this, I worked as supervisor and facilitator in a children's club for just under three years. During my time there I managed inventory, developed schedules and activity planning and day to day care of the children. I was very well liked and have glowing references from both employments.
I also worked in a Children's residential home, a women's resource centre and a day resource centre for people with physical and emotional disabilities.
In terms of my qualifications, I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Youth and Community Work Practice from University and a FETAC Level 6 diploma in Supervision in Childcare.
I have a current Enhanced DBS certificate from November 2014, a full clean European driving licence, first aid, fire safety, food hygiene and risk assessment certificates. I also undertook many workshops in relation to safeguarding children such as the HSE Keep Safe Training, How to handle a child abuse disclosure and Play Therapy. Play Therapy is a workshop I found very useful as it teaches practitioners in the childcare sector to properly communicate with children as they may not be able to verbalise their needs and wants through simply asking or speaking.
I am punctual, dedicated and have a genuine passion for caring for children of all ages.
