Are you looking for the right retirement livery for your much-loved horse or pony? We currently have one space available at our beautiful farm in the Scottish Borders. Run by a qualified equine behaviourist, our livery services are high-welfare and tailored to the specific needs of your horse. We pride ourselves on ensuring that each and every horse we care for has a healthy, happy and safe retirement in a quiet and peaceful setting. We only take a small, select number of liveries to ensure that each horse receives the care and attention it deserves. To ensure that our retirement liveries receive adequate nutrition and remain pain-free, they are given feed, medications and supplements to the exact specifications of their owners. We are able to cater for horses with special needs dietary needs due to EMS, Cushings and laminitis as well as those needing hay replacer or feeding for weight gain. Each horse receives a daily groom and foot pick as well as rug changes as needed. Horses have small group turnout with suitable companions, a field shelter and automatic waterers. They can come into individual stables at night in winter and during the day in summer, for some time away from flies and the sun or have 24/7 turnout (whichever you and they prefer). Owners are always welcome to visit and receive regular updates, including photos.Full retirement livery costs £400 per calendar month which includes ad lib hay or haylage (whichever you'd prefer), all feed, bedding and a six-weekly foot trim by an equine podiatrist. We have the forest right on our doorstep and, for horses that need to stay active, can also provide mounted or unmounted exercise for a small extra cost.We appreciate that choosing the perfect retirement livery can be a tough decision and are happy to supply you with references and connect you with our existing clients.
