Description:

LEGEND is an incredibly, good natured, loving, child/disabled friendly, up-to-date, easy to do in all ways, willing, approx. 11hh 3 1/2 years old mini-cob GELDING with long Barbie mane, who will follow you/a child around all day just wanting to love & be loved.

MANE MATTER
Please, note in time should get a much more fuller & impressive mane. Sadly, so many bad dirty dreadlocks had to be cut off when he came as they just could not be untangled. What you see is only one part of his mane. Mane was so heavy & neck so weak had to be pleated half to each side. Vet advise to balance the weight/avoid neck being dragged down one side. Neck fine now & mane is growing back out. Love to see a picture when he gets the full mane back. Imagine that would be WOW!

NATURE WISE
So sweet - was never coltish, aggressive or one bit interested in mares.
Loved but not spoiled nor given hand treats to avoid vice.
Happy & used to live in or out.
Always been good with other horses/ponies.
Fine with loud metal barn doors banging, noisy trolleys, fireworks & traffic. Used to walking along/crossing busy main road with heavy dumper trucks.
Great with kids & the disabled esp. those with autism.

EASE OF HANDLING
Delighted when people come to the paddock & happy to be caught.
A delight to hang out with, bond with & work with.
Great even for kids to take out for walks alone or in company.
Calm & easy - not bit or kicked nor been strong or dragged anyone.
Not bucked or reared (except when naturally having fun field with friends.)
Easy to load & travel & take places like beach.
Good to lead, tie up, brush, wash, worm, pleat, clip, rug up & dress up etc.
Been fine for vet & farrier.
Not many projects as sweet & easy as this.
One-in-a-million!

BACKING
For those that wonder why no photos of him tacked up/ridden if so easy.
We are a small rescue centre & simply do not tack/back till four years old.
Sure when the time comes will likely be one of the easiest ponies to back. Likely a kind family can easily do it themselves with some regular input.
Might just need a bit of experience or willingness to learn.
Should, all being well, make a lovely children's lead rein or riding pony.
Especially ideal for young or disabled child.
Maybe cute therapy or party pony project for small business or SEN project. Can of course make just a lovely pet or easy companion too.

HEALTH WISE
Been thro isolation/observation period & vet checks.
Came extremely starved & wormy hence person might like to get a vetting.
But not seen any sign of sickness, nor laminitis, asthma or sweet itch.
Nor notable injuries nor lumps or bumps.
Confirmation may or may not be up for showing.
Just in case might be best for family who is not worried about showing.
Barely enough muscle to stand never mind anything when he came.
Has come on great/built muscles living/playing out.
Hopefully person will allow him plenty of exercise to keep it up.
It's fun to watch him belt around the field with his friend.

WHAT HE HAS HAD DONE
Vet checked & age estimated by vet.
Was never coltish but been gelded/castrated to be on the safe side.
Microchipped & passported.
Had extended/spaced out course of good wormers on vet advise.
Vaccinated with 1st & 2nd Flue & Tetanus.
Had feet trimmed by farrier every six weeks.
Re-feeding done slowly/sensibly over 6mths+.
Basic taming & training done kindly.
Plenty of TLC, socialising with people & all sorts of ponies.
i.e. all the most expensive/time consuming things have been done.

CARE ADVISE
The pony & it's care becomes re-homer's responsibility.
These are our tips based on years of experience with young rescues/cobs.
Can live out (if not too muddy).
Will need rough grazing &/or hay, a friend, shelter/stable, water & salt lick.
If new to it start on a livery yard to learn basics.
To keep sweet/easy/safe/cheap don't over feed, hand feed nor feed sugar.
So sweet/good condition - no treats/sweets/carrots/sack feed etc needed.
Lots of love, hugs, brushes & gently blowing up the nostril will suffice.
Read up on things & ask questions.
Also keep handling/walking/working with/hanging out with regularly.
Start as you wish to go on.
Treat kindly without spoiling - letting 'no' mean 'no' & 'yes' mean 'yes'.
Everyday introduce new things/new people (including kids & more kids).
Take new places & just enjoy!

RE-HOMING
Like the RSPCA we fully re-home - i.e. pony/passport becomes fully yours.
Signed receipt given.
We do not loan, lease, do LWTVTB or do payment plans.
It's a one off re-homing fee £900 as seen to kind home.
(Some checks will be carried out.)
Please no dealers, producers or sellers.
Family funded, for the love of it, not for profit & any money goes back in.
Money never covers what has been spent but great help with hay bills etc.
