Ponies Available for Rehoming
Thor and Loki are half-brothers aged 7. Loki is about 12hh and Thor is about 12.2hh ad very chunky. They have been with us since they were 6 months old when they came in as part of a large welfare case after being abandoned in a carpark with a group of other colts. They were in quite a bad state and required intensive rehabilitation. They have great temperaments and huge potential. Both have done some therapy work but they really deserve to be part of someone's family. We are looking for the perfect permanent loan home for them and they will only go together as they are best friends.
They are both Welsh Section A x Gypsy Cob. Neither has ever had a vet bill other than for teeth and vaccinations. They are barefoot with great feet, no laminitis, and happy to live out or in. They have been turned out with mares and geldings of all ages and sizes. They are good to catch , rug, tack up, lead and with the farrier. Loki is excellent to clip, Thor needs some bribery.
Both Thor and Loki would be happy to be companions as long as they get plenty of interaction with people and we would consider that for them if the perfect home came up. However, they would love an owner that can continue their education and give them a job to do. They would both be happy to do unmounted work such as horse agility and enjoy walks in hand. Both are lightly backed (but not bitted) and have carried a rider on a lead line in the arena. Both have walked out on roads without a rider and seen a variety of arena obstacles (poles, cones, etc. ); they are not spooky or bothered by traffic. They will happily work out of sight of one another, as long as they have other equine company. Neither would be happy to be left completely alone. Thor and Loki would make the ideal driving pair for a person with the time and patience to break them to harness. They are almost exactly the same size and build and will trot around the field together as if harnessed just for fun!
Loki is a super-friendly, bombproof and laidback boy. With some more practice, he would make an ideal children's lead-rein pony. Unfortunately we don't have a small enough rider currently. Thor is clever, responsive and a little more quirky in that he thrives on a 1:1 relationship and really needs to trust his person. He can be sensitive and get bargey if he is worried. He jumps for fun and would really excel with a confident child or small adult who was willing to take the time to work with him.
We're not in any rush to rehome these very special boys but we welcome applications from anyone who thinks they might have the right kind of home. We'll consider anywhere in the UK and loan with view to buy for the right person.
