Caligina (Gina)

8 yo British Sports Pony x Warmblood mare

14.1hh

Devon based.

With a heavy heart we have decided to put Gina up for sale,
she is an amazing mare with a heart of gold once you get to know her. Very
sweet natured and loving and great to be around. We are putting Gina up for
sale as she is not in the right home with us, as I am only 4'11'' and 6 stone and she is a very strong pony due to the Warmblood in her. I have owned this mare for 2 years and know her inside out,
if you are interested in her feel free to ask any questions about her as I can
answer them for you.

Gina would make an amazing cross country, hacking, hunting or showing pony for
the right home. She could also go to a home doing all 4 things. She has 4
lovely paces, although her trot and canter are quite pony like due to her
dainty frame. She has an amazing gallop and is speedy and good at tight turns,
which would also be ideal for gymkhana but we have never tried it with her.
She can occasionally be quite spooky of things she has not seen before but if you ride
confidently she will take you with the confidence you are giving her.

Gina is good to load, clip, groom, lead etc. but is a bit unsure about a new
farrier, but once she gets to know your farrier she will settle down quickly.
She can be a bit pushy in the stable but if you tie her up and show her you are
the boss she will also settle down and let you handle her.

Gina has show jumped, but needs somebody stronger than me to ride her, but recently we took her down to a school to practice jumping and she flew over everything, the video is on the ad of that day. As a m&m/cross country pony Gina would be the perfect pony for you. However on the flat she is very responsive. She will bend on the inside leg, leg yield, rein back and half pass. She can easily
leg yield in walk, trot and canter if you are strong in the arms and legs. Goes
on the bit if you work her on a hack or on the flat. Ridden in a snaffle on the
flat but could use a stronger bit if you want to do cross country etc. If you
buy her a new bit we advise to NOT buy a french-link or copper bit as she does
not like the taste and the way the french-link moves upwards in her mouth. If
you do please buy her a rubber bit and she will be perfect for you!

Definitely NOT a first or second pony, would recommend as a third or fourth for
a confident girl, small woman or young lad.

Up to date with vaccinations/injections etc. Back, teeth and feet are all done and checked, all sound.

Kind regards, Amy.
