Please, meet BLESSING!
A lovely, approx. 10hh, black Welsh yearling filly (young mare).
Has a big white blaze, lovely thick mane, long tail & fun personality.
A real adorable character who loves a scratch & a fuss.
Sadly owners of the breeding herd passed away & things got in a mess.
Hence, came as an extremely starved (but not sick), unhandled rescue.
Had to be carried & in sling as skin & bone/too weak to even stand.
Thankfully good vet & experienced volunteers were at hand to help. Blessing went through isolation & vet checks with no sign of sickness.
Although neglected none from that herd have been sickly.
All come on so well.
They usually make lovely, good natured kids/therapy ponies.
Any issues, our ponies are usually welcome back as we love them.
Family funded, not for profit & not normally subsidised by donations.
We pay for everything ourselves for the love of it & don't take wages etc.
Only old/disabled stay as so many needy rescues on the waiting list.
Blessing has had everything seen to, is all up to date & ready to go.
- Age established from teeth by vet.
- Microchipped & Passported.
- Had suitably spaced out good Wormers (under vet advise).
- 1st & 2nd Flue & Tetanus Vaccinations done. (3rd not due yet)
- Feet trimmed by farrier every six weeks.
- General check over & treatment by vet on arrival.
- Used to & fine with living in or out in same or mixed herd.
- Taming & training has been well started.
More work needed but coming on well.
Trainer will be happy to advise & to stay in touch if wanted.
Super easy to be caught - so happy to see us so comes straight over.
Just loves a fuss, kind words, a good scratch & leg rubs!!
Not ruined with treats, sweets, hand feeding or food rewards.
Kind & consistent, known-to-work, trust based training used.
Usually results in safer/easier ponies suitable for kids & therapy work.
Used to being led out, tied up, brushed, rugged & have feet picked.
She is, however, still young & is a mare so can get bored.
To be expected & will usually get better with age & more practise.
For most parts just a real fun character.
Given the chance she would likely just move in & be part of the family.
Likely soon be found watching telly with the kids!
Given a chance following them to the shops, park or school gates.
With right input to make an ideal family pet, Best Buddy or companion.
Possibly future kids' lead rein, Pony Club or therapy pony project.
Think she would be very devoted & much loved.
Had to rub her cold legs to get circulation going when she first came.
She was so grateful & has never forgotten it, which is touching.
Stole our hearts
Just hope she finds a real kind sensible home.
For family, confident teen, mature person or small pony pet business.
Just that lovely easy size & fine feet so not plough up field too much.
Think right person will just love this little blessing.
Re-homing fee is only £450 as seen.
Right person gets full ownership, passport & signed receipt.
For welfare reasons we do not loan, lease or rent out rescues.
It's a one off fee - no hidden extras!
If we can't trust you to own her we wont trust you with her at all.
No membership, application, insurance, lease or viewing fees required.
Can stay in touch & re-homers often do, but up to the individual.
Must be kind, over 18 with a bit of experience OR willingness to learn.
Must be able to afford & have a suitable yard, place or paddock ready. Can't re-home or deliver unseen or over Facebook.
She is, however, open to viewing & vetting.
Usually happy to arrange a no obligation viewing.
Honest advise given.
Whole family welcome.
Feel free to bring more experienced horse friend as long as kind.
It's good to check a pony out but we don't do tyre kicking, hackling etc.
With all the love & things done our ponies are cheap enough as it is.
Money goes back in to the project.
Although it never covers what's been spent it's a great help with hay etc.
She will come with head collar, lead rope & hay net.
Just please tell us a bit more & when available to view.
We can't always hold, so please come prepared, so not to miss out!
Look forward to hearing from you.
We hope she is just what you are looking for.
If not we have other lovely rescue ponies looking for kind homes.
Just let us know what you are looking for & who/what it would be for.
Also where you will keep the pony.
We are here to help people as much as ponies. x
