Description:

Victorian Antique Parlour Organ. Lovely solid mahogany period piece. The instrument is a pump action reed organ made by the Bell Organ and Piano Co Ltd in Guelph, Ontario, Canada in 1895 (Serial No. 74807). It has 8 organ stops and 2 knee swells, (volume and dwell controls), and is in fully working condition. It produces a surprisingly loud and rich tone with impressive sustain. A musician friend gave us a superb rendition of Scott Joplin's "The Entertainer" (among others) on it and confirmed that everything is working properly. That's quite something when you consider that it crossed the Atlantic nearly 20 years before the Titanic - (didn't).

Highly decorative with extensive edging, carving, impressed motifs, galleries, finials and a bevel-edged mirror. The solid wood construction is up to 1 1/8" thick with a gorgeous patina. It is on small wheels and the entire top half is very easily removed for transportation.

This handsome piece is complete, original, undamaged, unrestored and unmessed with.

Width 45 ins (114 cms), Height 69 ins (175 cms), Depth 23 ins (58 cms).
