These feltball rugs are a handmade by Nepalese communities. Below is a very quick overview of how they are made.
Each of the thousands of individual felt balls are made of high quality New Zealand wool which are dyed before soaked in soapy water and rolled until they are over 2 cm in diameter.
They are rinsed in cold water and left to dry
Once completely dried, they are ready to be woven together to make the rug. This is the most complex task and takes huge amount of time.
