Black solid mahogany body with maple top. Bought new in 2009 as an addition to my collection so apart from checking it out when I bought it (and again today to ensure it still works as it should!) it has lived in a gig bag and has not been played. It has never left the house so no gigging and is mint/as new.
CASH on collection from Dunstable, Beds (3 miles from junction 11 on M1) or bank transfer (the latter before despatch). Any questions or to view, ring me or message me. If you need more photos, just ask. Sensible offers given consideration.
NO SWAPS OR TRADES THANK YOU
Some background info/reviews:
The Ibanez ADC120 is an Arondite series guitar model and part of the Ibanez X series, issued in 2007. It has a single cut body shape similar to the ART series models. Other features include a mahogany body with maple top, set-in mahogany neck, the Gibraltar III bridge and Ibanez VK1 pickups.
All Arondite models are based on other body shapes, other Arondite models are the ADD120 and ADX120. The Ibanez VK1 pickups were reintroduced in a standard shape for the 2010 RGD320.
The neck on the ADC120 is "very slightly" chunky by Ibanez standards, and the fingerboard seems roomier than your typical Wizard. Feels kind of like the SZ neck to me of everything I can compare it to.
The pickups are great. Of course this guitar was born to sound dark, but the neck is somehow hotter than I expected, and so they balance well with each other. It can be a nice bluesy round tone at low gain, but it distorts nicely while still staying clear. I've been playing it tuned to D, and it sounds huge. All three pickup combinations are immediately useful. Ibanez bills it as a metal guitar, but it is capable of a lot more (less?) than that.
§The body is uniquely in-between a Les Paul and an Explorer
§Strings-thru-body with 3D-adjustable [Gibraltar III ] bridge
§Thin-style (60's) mahogany set neck with rosewood fingerboard and star Mother-of-Pearl / Abalone inlays
§Made in China
§22 medium frets
§3-way-pickup selector switch; 1 volume control; 1 tone control
§Two passive Ibanez alnico humbuckers with bar magnets (VK1 neck; VK2 bridge)
The X in the name of the series stands for both the extreme and X factor, for this line of guitars contains modern, super-strong and models never seen before. One of them is ADC120 and it basically comes with a slightly deformed Artist single-cut contour. Body is made of mahogany in its entirety and it features carved top, as well as the contoured back. There`s no top wood cover, nor there is binding. This one is available only in Black color scheme with chrome hardware to counter it. Bridge section has a Gibraltar III bridge with strings running through the body. Pickups are humbuckers with rails, instead of poles. Set-in mahogany neck has Wizard II contour in the back and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on top.
When you consider that Ibanez has produced more than a thousand guitar models, it's no surprise that the company delivers high quality instruments at an affordable price. The sound, look and performance of Ibanez's Arondite and Art series are as sleek as they are reliable. Since recent years, it's difficult to compete with "Made in China" Ibanez guitar's from both the quality and price standpoint. Their quality control is phenomenal.
