2009 Honda Civic Type R GT | Just serviced | Very Tidy | Coilovers
Just check this beauty out!
Finished in gorgeous 'Nighthawk Black', this very straight example of an FN2 Civic Type R really looks the part!
Just had a full service
Just take a look at the pictures and you will see - this isn't your average, abused Type R!
This generation of Civic Type R does occasionally get some stick based on the handling characteristics, thanks to the rear torsion bar suspension set-up, however, this particular example has a trick up it's sleeve to combat that - a full coilover suspension set-up! It handles like it is on rails!
Aside from the suspension (which is a much needed modification if you want to really drive your Type R as it is supposed to be driven), This little corker is totally standard, meaning that you can avoid the boy racer image whilst still getting the absolute maximum out of the car.
This car really does look the part. The gorgeous paint gleams in the sun and the original factory wheels are still very bright. You can tell that this one has been looked after and not thrashed like so many other Type R's unfortunately are.
Naturally, being an 11 year old car there are some minor imperfections such as stone chips to the front of the car and some minor marks here and there on the wheels, but overall this is almost certainly one of the cleanest / straightest FN2 Type R's out there for this money!
Inside, the interior is absolutely gorgeous and totally complete with no rips, tears, stains, burns or unpleasant smells to speak of.
It is common for the gear gaiter to split and deteriorate in these cars due to the material Honda used, however this one has a gorgeous Black / Red stitched alcantara item fitted instead (which looks the business).
The driving experience of this car is nothing short of breath-taking! That legendary K20 under the bonnet is still as willing and as peppy as the day it left the showroom in 2009.
VTEC comes on song and plants you back into those super supportive race seats exactly as you would expect, the gearbox is almost surgically precise with all 6 speeds engaging and running as Honda intended - there are absolutely no knocks, bangs, whines or other undue noises from the drive train.
The clutch is also in great health and offers absolutely no slip or weakness whatsoever.
Finally, as already mentioned, the handling is this cars 'Pice de rsistance' thanks to that coilover set up. The car doesn't ride super low (although you could adjust this suspension to be like that if that's your thing), but it hugs the tarmac like a pure-bred track monster!
To summarise; if you are looking for a modern, fast, reliable, fun-to-drive car that can be used as a daily commuter in the week and a B-road basher on the weekends - This is undoubtedly the car for you.
This example highlights all that is good about the FN2 Type R without any of the typical drawbacks.
Don't miss out on this one!
