Description:

Must go ASAP, new car has arrived & need the parking space,
if unsold soon I'll be organising temporary storage and taking the listing down, was going to chop it up, but it's too good a car.

1977 Rubber Bumper model MGB GT, restoration project or Spares,

Full V5 present in my name, & at my address, on SORN

Trailer / Transporter needed to take away, rolls freely and engine runs, but no master cylinders or pedals fitted.

I hauled this out of a barn (yes really) earlier this year, where it has been in storage and continuously on SORN from pre 1992, confirmed to me verbally by DVLA,

Much work had already been done on the car and more needed, although a better prospect than many that are available on here,
I bought the car as therapy to help my stroke recovery, but found it needs more work than I'm prepared to put into a GT, if it had been a Roadster I'd definitely be keeping it,

Good points:
The engine has been re-commissioned & is a very sweet quite runner,
Starts easily (off the key) and doesn't smoke or clatter, (ran from a separate tank, fuel hoses need changing to E5 compliant),
Runs up to temperature ok and the electric fan cuts in & out ok

Also changed / sorted the following:
Engine oil,
Oil filter,
Plugs and points,
Carb's cleaned,
Alternator,
Distributor,
Thermostat Housing,
Fan Belt,
Carb' link pipe,
Fuse box & Connectors,
Heater box & flap

Work previously done (Huge):
New front Wings (Left & Right)
Inner front wings repaired + nut rails (Left & Right)
Kick Panels + Trumpets/Diaphragms renewed (Left & Right)
New Outer Sills (Left & Right)
B Post panels renewed (Left & Right)
Rear Wing Lower front quarters & sill closing panels Renewed (Left & Right)

Work needing to be done:
The heater drain was blocked on the car, so the bulkhead needs panel work (common rust trap),
Drivers outer footwell,
Inner sill & castle rail, short repair sections should sort these rather than full panels,
Fairly minor repairs needed to both doors and both small closing plates below tail lamps,
The dash, centre console & loom has been stripped out for access only, but is all there & complete

O/S/ Rear roof pillar repair,
Rear wing seams ground off, I was going to lead fill these to get rid of the rust trap.
Full respray needed, scattered rust spots generally due to paint lifting, but not holed

Panels and parts supplied with the car to help with repairs:
Complete bulkhead assembly (from 1978 car), trimmed for parts required,
This is for the later dual circuit braking system,
Supplied is a later brake servo, both master cylinders, pedal box & pedals,
Rear roof pillar section (pillar section supplied)
New outrigger,
New jacking point
New jacking point / sill reinforcing bracket,
Good Bonnet supplied (old one is shot)

Fairly straight old car needing a bit of TLC,
Full set of Grey stripe seats, in decent condition, but needs cleaning
Good set of black bound edged carpets
Glass sunroof

There's probably a ton of stuff I've missed, but I'll amend the listing as necessary,
