Description:

This is a rare find. It is a manual four speed and reverse gearbox for the Alvis Speed Twenty and Speed Twenty Five range from 1933 to 1939.

It is a separately mounted gearbox with synchromesh on all four forward gears. It is mounted slightly away from the engine and connected to the flywheel by a short shaft (not included).

All four forward gears are silent and use the herring bone type gear assemblies.

This gearbox was kept as a spare for a Speed 20 or 25 by the man I bought it from. He has now sold the car.

It is a good used gearbox that has been dry stored and looked after. Any corrosion is minimal.

It selects all gears and the shafts turn smoothly and quietly.

There is no guarantee of condition. The gearbox would need to be checked through with any work being carried out as necessary.
