Description:

We are looking to re-home our budgie, Winston. He is a lively little chap with plenty of energy who we rescued from a tiny cage in a smoky living room.

We're re-homing him because we think he would be happier in an aviary or large cage with other budgies to play with. He is here (in separate cages) with our cockatiel who he bullies mercilessly, not because he is bad, but because the poor chap is lonely. We had thought about getting more budgies to keep him company, but our neighbours would never speak to us again and we clean up enough poop as it is.

Winston is out almost every day and is happiest when he is flying about daft. He spends hours deep in conversation with the lightbulb, and loves to square-go any drink you put on the table in a glass. He eats well - plenty greens, seed and treats, and enjoys shuffling torn-up paper with various bits and bobs hidden in it for him to fling around his cage.

We call Winston a "he" but we actually don't know if he is a boy or a girl. He isn't hand-tame, but will land on your head or shoulder and shuffle about in your hair. He will eat out of your hand if you are patient.

We DO NOT need a fast re-homing, and are willing to wait for the right person to take him. We won't consider anyone who isn't willing to send us a picture of where he will go to live, i.e. the cage/aviary with budgies already in it.

If you come to get him, I'm happy to give you away a carry case to take him home in, mainly because it'll take us hours to get him in the darn thing in the first place so we will have to prepare well before your arrival unless you are an expert at getting a budgie to do what it's told.

We had considered putting him up for free because we only want him to go to a good home, but we think doing that attracts twice as many nutters as genuine, nice folk. We would like to keep the signal-to-noise-ratio down.
