We have a beautiful female akita for sale. She is a Japanese akita x American akita. Rogue is almost 8 months old and she is a happy, playful pup. Unfortunately she really hasn't had the best start in life so it's really important that she goes to a forever home with someone who has experience of big breed dogs. Rogue has now had 3 different homes in such a short space of time and this really isn't her fault at all. When we took rogue in she was tiny and just pure skin and bone. Terrified of everything and everyone. We took her in, got her wormed, flead, vaccinations and microchip done. When we got her we got told she was around 3 months old only to find out a few weeks later she was actually around 7 months old. Rogue has been checked over by a vet because she is small for her age and was low weight. We had a basic blood test done on her and it came back that she has a low immune system and the vets think she has low hormone levels. The vet suggested there was no reason to test for her hormone levels as there isn't any treatment for it.Rogue is still small for her age and she is steadily gaining weight but is still not where she should be. She a very well behaved girl who is fully toilet trained, she will bark at strangers coming into the house. She needs work on her walking as she will sometimes happily walk but other times get very scared and will not move. Rogue also suffers a bit of separation anxiety which I'm sure is understandable given the start in life she has had. She currently lives in a family home with older children and 2 other dogs of whom she gets on with. When she sees dogs out and about she does bark at them. Again because of the rubbish start she has had rogue can be food aggressive but not towards people. She can be fed in the same room as another dog as long as bowls aren't near each other and the other dog doesn't approach her whilst eating.
Because rogue is small for her age and everything that's going on with her the vets have told us she is NOT to be bred as it could kill her or the pups could end up having problems.
It's with a real heavy heart that we are having to re-home her as she is a fantastic dog with a lovely little personality. It's just unfortunate we can not cope with 3 dogs Read more
