Description:

The common plec is a well known fish that is hardy, peaceful and excellent at eating algae. It is important to note that it will outgrow most aquariums, growing to over 12", regardless of tank size. In a large tank (150cm+) it can be an excellent tank mate for almost any other fish, including large barbs and cichlids. Its armour plating make it pretty much impervious to any hostility and their hardy constitution makes them suitable for most water parameters.

Temperature Range - 20 - 29C

pH Range - 5.5 - 7.5

Special Requirements - They grow large!

Tanks Mates and Compatibility - They are a good community fish as they are peaceful.
