Turkey Poults for the table - These little turkey will grow into big turkeys - making not just wonderful docile pets, but as these are the broad or double breasted meat bird, they are ideal for raising as part of a Smallholding where self sufficiency and free range, happy meat for the table is important.

Turkeys are very gentle, with huge personalities ... We now have very limited numbers of Bronze or Norfolk Black. These turkeys poults are now living in an outside pen in a shaded woodland - but they are now quite capable to fly and roost up high in a tree if you want truly free range birds.

For those who wish to grow Turkeys for the table, the hens would look to achieve 4-6kg in weight. The stags are slightly bigger at 6-8kg by then. Their weight can be increased with high protein feeding, or free ranging with unlimited access to food.

We suggest you rear your birds to 22 weeks of age ready for the table. The boys will not have reached sexual maturity by then and will not be aggressive in any way. They are actually really sweet. :¬)
