Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England (QCF)

This qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working with adults in health and social care environments. It covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health care procedures.

It has three pathways:
Generic Health and Social Care
Dementia
Learning Disability

It is also a must-have for all those undertaking the Level 2 Health and Social Care Apprenticeship.

Who is it suitable for? All those who wish to work or who are working in a supervised role with adults in health and social care.

What are the entry requirements? You should be at least 16 years old. CACHE does not set any other entry requirements but colleges or training providers may have their own guidelines.

How many credits are required to complete it? The Diploma requires 46 credits.

How is it assessed? It will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task set by CACHE.

Do you need to be working to take the qualification? Yes, you will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement as you need to show competence in both knowledge and skills.

How long does it take to complete? You can usually complete it in a year or less.

Which type of job roles can learners apply for on completion? Care Assistants in Residential Settings or Supported Living Healthcare Support Workers in Community and Primary Care Environments Healthcare Assistants in Acute Health Environments Care Support Workers in Domiciliary Services

It has three pathways: Generic Health and Social Care / Dementia / Learning Disability

What are the entry requirements? Learners should be at least 19 years old.

How many credits are required to complete the qualification? The Diploma will require 58 credits in total.

How are they assessed? This could include direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments.

How long do they take to complete? Learners can usually complete the Diploma in a year or less.

What related qualifications can learner's progress to?
* Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social (Adults)for England.
* QCF qualifications for Senior Practitioner roles in health and social care.
