A varied, exciting and challenging volunteer role, helping to provide services in a prison visit hall. You will help meet and greet visitors in the visit centres at the prison gates, supply refreshments in the visit hall tea bar and provide play services for visiting children. You will also provide support, advice and guidance to prisoners and their families.
When a loved one becomes involved in the criminal justice system the disruption caused to family and friends can be devastating. Choices offer a neutral, caring and non-judgmental place to turn to for support in a time of need.
All volunteers for Choices will be provided with ongoing training and support, and travel expenses of up to £15 a day paid. Due to the prison vetting process Choices are unable to accept volunteers with a criminal record. Choices have volunteer opportunities at three locations, Exeter, Newton Abbott or Princetown.
