Description:

A unique opportunity to acquire a rare and much sought-after guitar

I've decided to sell my Gretsch Sparkle Jet G6129 with Bigsby as it is no longer being used. It was manufactured in Japan in May 1996 (more desirable pre-Fender instrument) and is finished in stunning rare champagne sparkle. It is in superb original condition and comes with the original hard case. The build quality and components are top class and, of course, you have that fabulous Gretsch sound. It has never been gigged in the sense of touring 'on the road' but has been used for solo pub/club performances an open mike nights only so has never been abused.

Those of you looking at this are probably fully aware of its specification but just as a reminder it features:
- an arched carved bound maple top on a semi hollow dark mahogany body
- Filterton humbuckers
- 22 fret bound mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard and hump block pearloid inlays
- Bigsby tremolo
- ebony-based roller bridge
- inlaid horseshoe and Gretsch logo on headstock
- silver Plexi pickguard
- 3-position toggle switch
- individual pickup volume controls
- master volume control
- master tone control
- original 'Gretsch' hard case in excellent condition but with minor wear (no key - unless I can find it)

As far as condition is concerned, I have looked after this guitar meticulously - it has been well loved and stored in its case when not in use and is in superb condition. There is some natural tarnish to the hardware which will polish up and the pickup bezels have minor cracks around the screws. There are some hairline polish and a few minor age-related marks as would be expected of a 21-year old guitar but no buckle rash, no breaks, no repairs, no dings, no scratches - there are no issues and everything works as it should. The neck is as straight as an arrow and there is minor fret wear (plenty of life left). It plays very smoothly with the deep warm tone and strong sustain you expect from a Gretsch. All-in-all, a desirable and collectible example. It will need new strings and you'll probably want to set it up to your own preference but is perfectly playable as it is.

Note that the photos form part of the description so study them closely - the overall colour and look are well represented. If you want more - or have any questions, just ask and let me know what you require.

NO SWAPS OR TRADES THANK YOU - I am trying to reduce the guitars I have!

THIS IS CASH ON COLLECTION ONLY (NO PAYPAL) SO IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO TRAVEL DO NOT BUY OR MAKE A BID - it will also give you the opportunity to audition and check all is working to your satisfaction. I WILL NOT POST UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I am in Dunstable, Bedfordshire (3 miles from junction 11 on M1). I may consider a bank transfer but the guitar will not be released until funds are visible in my account.

Only selling as it is no longer getting used! Sensible offers given serious consideration.
