Awesome sounding Ibanez version of the Les Paul Special, from around 1975.

At some time in its life it has had a full headstock overlay added with a very authentic looking inlayed pearl Gibson logo. These were apparently often exported with blank headstocks. Japanese domestic models had the Ibanez logo.

**Please note this is not a Gibson guitar**

Pickups and wiring are all original, and still working fine (a little crackle on one of the vol pots when turned but nothing serious). The P90 pickups combined with the mahogany body sound amazing. I have replaced the original metal pickup covers with new plastic ones, as I felt the metal ones were sucking the tone somewhat, but they will be included with the guitar.

Other upgrades since I acquired the guitar:
New pickguard
New Grover Deluxe tuners
New nickel plated super light aluminium wraparound bridge
New vol/tone knobs

This is a genuine vintage guitar with plenty of minor bumps and knocks, and some crazing to the finish, but no structural issues.
The neck has a lovely 'played-in' feel; the frets are low and wide, (as was the fashion with Gibson at the time, with the so-called 'fret-less wonder' Les Pauls) but it still plays really well - built for speed!

Also included is a period correct hard case, a rare item in itself, which fits it like a glove again a little 'road worn' but still functional.
