A beautifully restored original 1978-79 Hohner Clavinet D6, the classic electric keyboard. A fully functioning, ready-to-play piece of music history.

Famous for its iconic sound in funk, rock, and soul, the Clavinet D6 has defined numerous classic tracks by legends like Stevie Wonder, Led Zeppelin, and The Rolling Stones. Its unmistakable percussive tone and unique funky vibe make it a coveted addition for collectors and musicians alike.

The instrument has just undergone a full restoration by industry renowned engineer Tiny Evans, ensuring top-tier performance and playability. Key components were replaced, including new hammer tips and strings, with a full tuning and action setup, plus internal and external cleaning, making it ready for studio or live use.

Complete Disassembly and Service: The instrument was fully stripped down, and each component was meticulously cleaned, including the iconic wooden exterior, restoring its vintage charm.

String Replacement: Three strings have been replaced, ensuring consistent tuning and resonance across the instrument's range.

New Hammer Tips: Essential for the Clavinet's signature percussive sound and playability, enhancing its distinctive tonal character.

This Clavinet boasts a natural, authentic wear and patina on its tolex-covered edges, sides, and rear, giving it the distinct character, charm and aesthetic valued by collectors. The original case, with functional clasps, hinges, corners, and handles, is fully intact, displaying further vintage appeal.

Dampening Mechanism: The internal red felt strip serves as part of the Clavinet's dampening system, controlling sustain and decay for varied expression.

Power Options: The instrument runs on a 9-volt battery (included, with a spare), powering its onboard preamp and electronics to achieve its iconic amplified sound. Alternatively, you can use an external power supply (6-9V range) for consistent power without relying on batteries.
