Description:

HP DesignJet T730 printer

Smart investment. Ideal for building industry. Works with Apple Mac & Windows. Robust. Top value A0 printer. 1GB memory.

The HP DesignJet T730 36-in A0 printer is a 4-ink, 36-inch A0 Wi-Fi enabled printer with its own local area network. Ideal for CAD and general-purpose applications, this printer is a favourite amongst Architects, Engineers, Construction Industry, Designers, Planners and works well with both Apple Macs and Windows.

This model, known for its robust and compact design and has been produced with a modern black/dark grey casing. It's also very intuitive and user-friendly from setup to printout. It offers 1GB memory, a print speed of 25 seconds per A1 page with a choice of 130ml or 300ml ink cartridges, and the box includes the printer stand/media bin and an upright tray for A3/A4 prints (as well as a small set of starter inks). It also comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty.

When to purchase this printer: The HP DesignJet T730 printer is built for CAD printing or technical printing, but it can also be a generic printer capable of printing photos, POS posters, maps, film etc. This printer is ideal for print volumes of around 200 prints per month.

When NOT to purchase this printer:
The HP DesignJet T730 is not a graphics printer although it can print good quality photos/graphics/maps. However, its colour inks are dye-based and not pigment-based, which means they aren't the UV stabilised and water-resistant inks that are recommended when you want to display your prints for any length of time. While it offers great prints to the non-professional eye, a graphics printer will give you additional benefits such as the ability to print on thicker media and canvas up to 500gsm. The DesignJet T730 is not designed to handle very thick media like this.

If you print complex files from Adobe software and/or you print more than 200 prints per month then we recommend reviewing the next model up from the T730. Currently, this will give you cheaper ink costs and an integrated stacker with optional PostScript capability. If you print less than 100 prints per month and you wish to print a lot of A3 prints, then it would also be worth considering the model below the DesignJet T730.
