Registered General Nurse (RGN) Band 5 in Surrey



We are recruiting Nurses to work for the Ministry of Defence in Surrey.

This is a great opportunity for anybody looking for a change and to explore a new clinical environment.

This post will involve working as part of a multi-disciplinary primary healthcare team, providing basic ward based nursing care within a Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) bedded down facility, to the Defence Medical Services (DMS) entitled Population at Risk (PAR).
Posts can vary in length from a few weeks to a few months.


Responsible to the Senior Medical Officer, Lead Clinician or Senior Nurse for the provision of nursing care.

Be involved in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care and used evidence-based practice approach to all clinical/managerial workloads.

Order and maintain the required level of medical supplies and equipment needed for the delivery of patient care.


To comply with regulatory standards set out by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code.

To undertake continuous professional and personal development as required by the NMC and employer for Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) delivery.

To work within proven level of competence of PHC delivery and recognise own boundaries within scope of professional practice.

To comply with DPHC, Joint Service Publication (JSP) 950 and National Clinical Policy and Guidelines; ensuring evidence based PHC delivery.


Must hold certificates of training/qualification/update or be able to provide proof of clinical competency from a previous employer or Line Manager who is a current and practicing NMC Registrant:

Injection technique


Evaluation of the deteriorating patient e.g. use of Medical Early Warning Systems (MEWS).

Minimum of 1 year Primary Care experience

Be in date for BLS, AED, Anaphylaxis, Infection Control and Safeguarding Adults & Children


Experience working in a relaxed environment

More time to spend with patients improving care
