A personal assistant/care worker is required to support a young boy who lives in Woking, Surrey.

Please provide additional information about when you need your support: I require 2 people to PA for my 7-year-old son who has special needs. We are looking for two people to PA together 6 hours every week. This may be in the evening or on weekends. Additionally, we are looking for the same people or others to PA for 15 hours per week during school holidays. Again, the days and times are flexible. Ideally you will have experience working with children with autism and ADHD.

We have a mileage allowance so you may want to take some trips out. Mileage is 45p per mile up to 30 miles per week

Description:
The PA will be providing respite care looking after a 7-year-old boy who requires a high level of supervision. This means mainly watching him to make sure he behaves safely, does not eat things he should not or climb unsafely. He made need lots of prompting to keep him safe or to remind him to eat etc. You may also be required to take him out to places and supervise him e.g. swimming, for a walk etc.
You will need to be patient and calm, but firm with him as he can be very cheeky. You will need to be able to use PECS.
Preferably you will have prior experience of working in a special needs setting, specifically with children with developmental delay, autism or adhd.
You have to be ok with dogs as we have a small cockapoo.
My son loves to be outdoors and is very active.
