Steps lead down to the saloon, an extremely spacious family area that benefits from portholes, skylights, and a multifuel stove that is a fantastic focal point. Back from the saloon on one side is a study area with plenty of shelving, the other side is a utility area that houses the Alde gas boiler, and has room for a washer/dryer and freezer. There is also room for this to be used as a cloakroom as well.
A corridor leads from the lounge to the bathroom, which has a bath with shower attatchment, hand basin and portable cassette toilet. There are three good sized double bedrooms, all with a mixture of sky lights and portholes, and all with a good amount of storage.
Externally Barge no 9 is in excellent condition and offers a good amount of deck space, with some stunning views across the river Medway and Kent countryside.
Barge no 9 was taken out of the water in 2018 where the hull was completely replated below the waterline , and painted with 2 pac epoxy. The superstructure was also completely repainted, with the roof done again in 2021 using Dulux Metalshield, and again in October 2022.
Barge no 9 is an extremely well maintained example of a converted Humber keel, and can be a family home offering fantastic space, charming character and secure surroundings.
