I have a 3 bedroom Victorian Town House available to rent just off Etherley Lane in Bishop Auckland.
I don't have many restrictions except you need to be able to pay the rent without me having to deal with the benefits agency re Housing Benefit. I realise this will exclude some people but I just don't have the time to deal with that. The house is ideal for one/ a couple or possibly 2 friends people sharing, but the tenancy agreement would be one agreement and not single tenancy agreements in a multi-occupancy house.
It probably isn't very child friendly given that there is no garden (only has a yard)
The house is on a quiet side street with on street parking but with no guaranteed parking space. It is less than 10 minutes walk to the railway station and town centre. The front of the house is South facing and gets very warm-ideal for pots and tubs...or tomato plants...There is a back yard/patio with raised "railway sleeper" bed, wall mounted bike rack, as well as patio table and chairs and a small storage shed.
The house has many original features including high ceilings, picture rails, panelling and ceiling rose in the living room. Heating is gas powered central heating with combi boiler, which has been recently serviced-all gas appliances will be gas safety checked. There is a BT point with BT fitted extension in the small front bedroom which has been used as an office/study.
Living room with exposed floor boards, double glazed bay window. Two central heating radiators under the bay windows and a gas "coal effect" fire.
Dining room with wooden flooring, high ceiling, picture rails and built in cupboard to the sides of the fireplace (not usable as an open fire but a nice feature)
Flooring needs to be replaced in the hallway
The kitchen has fitted units, granite worktop with worktop to ceiling cupboards, range gas cooker and Belfast sink. Washing machine, dishwasher and fridge freezer are also included.
1st floor bathroom with "ball & claw" bath and large "pan head" shower over the bath.
The stairs turn to a top/half landing which currently accommodates a large linen press cupboard. There are 2 large double bedrooms and a smaller 3rd bedroom that currently functions as a study with a large floor to ceiling hand built cupboard that will remain in situ.
The house will be let unfurnished (white goods - washing machine, dishwasher will remain in the kitchen unless you don't need them) If you have your own whitegoods to use at the time of moving in I would arrange for them to be fitted, or would need to be assured that they have been fitted properly in order to avoid leaks etc. The gas range cooker will remain in the kitchen, being gas it's not something I can easily move and I also have nowhere to store it. There might be the possibility of some items being made available if required eg dining table, coffee table but this isn't guaranteed.
Fire /Smoke detectors fitted and recently upgraded by Co Durham Fire & Rescue. (usual gas safety certificates will be issued)
Rent £575 per month. Council Tax & all utilities (gas, electricity, water, phone/broadband/satelite services and TV licence) will be the responsibility of the tenant/s. Currently the gas and electric is with EON.
There is no deposit required-but I do require two month's rent to be paid at the point of securing the house
There is some cleaning/decorating to do so it's not going to be available until the end early to mid May
