Type 1 diabetics have to spend £50 every two weeks for glucose sensors at the moment. The NHS has given the go ahead for them to be prescribed but only a few local health authorities are prescribing and often only for certain cases.
Please sign the petition below and spread the word in person or via social media.
These sensors are fantastic for adults and children with diabetes. See example above of how I adjusted my night time insulin to stop the glucose increase at 3am. Daily average glucose level drops from 9.2 to 5.8 (perfect).
The sensors are likely to result in reduced costs to the NHS due to fewer complications. They will also improve the health and life expectancy for type 1 diabetics who, through no fault of their own, have to put up with diabetes all day every day.
Thank you so much in advance and here's hoping we can get to 10,000 or even 100,000!
