Hypnobirthing is a kind of antenatal class that focuses on calm breathing and relaxation techniques, to reduce anxiety during pregnancy and help you cope with pain, stress and anxiety during labour. Although most people who take a hypnobirthing course are looking forward to a straightforward birth without medical assistance, hypnobirthing is just as suitable to help you prepare for a caesarean birth, if you're finding the prospect of this to be worrying.

I'm Zana and I've had over 20 years experience helping people prepare for labour, birth and looking after a newborn baby. I'm properly qualified (ex-NCT teacher requiring 3 yrs study, a level 5 DipHE in Antenatal Education and certificate in Hypnobirthing from a RCM accredited course, as well as many other 'update days' along the way). In addition I'm a qualified, accredited, practising Counsellor and have additional experience in helping people recover from birth trauma.

I can work with you and your birth partner for a whole day, tailoring everything to your needs, to help you feel more calm, confident and relaxed about birth, as well as more skilled to deal with it. Everything you learn is transferable into everyday life; so it's useful if you suffer with general anxiety, if you're nervous about giving a presentation at work, if you don't like blood tests or going to the dentist, etc.

Your course includes 5 audio downloads to help you practice as your baby's birth draws nearer. I'll also provide written information and I'm available by email for any 'wobbles' until just after your baby's birth.
