Stourbridge Studios is a home run recording studio based just outside of Stourbridge town centre offering professional level studio recordings as well as live concert recordings and mixing of existing recordings. The studio is acoustically treated for multiple options, allowing for isolated takes, 'live' recordings or vocal work.
The studio is capable of recording most musical instruments, and also has some equipment on site to cater for most popular instrument choices. The studio is available for a wide range of projects ranging from recording demos/EP, vocalists performing to karaoke style backing tracks, to full length albums/music projects.
The studios owner and producer (Chris Wilson) has 15 years of experience working in the music industry with most of this time spent mentoring, performing and recording, and is also a fully qualified and active classroom teacher in Music holding both a BA (Hons) and PGCE in Music.

The studio features equipment from brands such as AKG, Shure, Audio-Technika, Audix, ART, Joe Meek, MXL, Mackie, M-Audio, Steinberg, Presonus, Propellerhead, Waves, Slate Digital, Apple, Yamaha, Roland, Casio, Trace Elliot, Mapex, Orange.

The studio offers recording sessions in half or full day sessions at competitive rates (£150 a full day, £75 a half day). I will also always try to accommodate initial setup and tear down of equipment outside of recording times (within reason) in order to maximise your available time. Live recordings are booked per show (assumed to be an evening) for venues within the West Midlands, with more personalised quotes available on enquiry.

Mixing for both studio and live recordings is included in quoted rates and is completed during recording hours with some additional time outside of these hours to tidy work up projects and mixdown (at no additional cost); I will also provided a mastered copy of work to clients, however, mixed only versions are available by request should you wish for your project to be mastered by a dedicated mastering engineer. I also mix work recorded elsewhere on request; rates for this vary dependent on project size, number of tracks, quality of recording and level of mixing required. A typical rate for a 16 track song (drums, bass, two guitars, guitar solo, vocals and backing) recorded decently would be £30 per song.

We are located on the outskirts of Stourbridge town centre, just off Brettel Lane. It can be easily reached by car or public transport and is within easy reach of the surrounding areas (Netherton, Blackheath, Rowley Regis, Brierley Hill, Pensnett, Wordsley, Kingswinford, Wall Heath, Norton, Wolleston, Halesowen, Gornal, Sedgley, Wolverhampton, Oldbury). There are also several large supermarkets and fast food restaurant chains within a minutes walk of the studio.
